WELCOME TO HALLOWED GROUND!

Leslie T. Moore

December 29, 1968 – February 9, 2008

Leslie Moore

Leslie Moore was an extraordinary wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. But more importantly, Leslie was a devoted child of God who dedicated her life to serving Him. She never looked for titles, rewards or recognition. As a powerful encourager, Leslie believed she had been called by God to be a devoted wife and mother. She is survived by her husband, Lawrence, and their seven beautiful children: Lawrence, Jr. 12, Emmanuel 11, Jeremiah 7, Christopher 5, Martin 4, Malcolm 4, and Jayla 3.

Leslie Moore was born December 29, 1968 in Bronx, New York, the youngest daughter of Turner J.
Pierce (deceased) and Mildred Gladwin. She graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1986, where she was a cheerleader. She had a passion for reading and worked as a library aide at Mt. Vernon Library. Upon graduation, she attendedWilfred Academy of Beauty where she received her license in Cosmetology and later pursued a degree at theWestchester Community College. She worked as a hair stylist for a few years before joining Liberty Mutual, where she worked until her passing. At Liberty Mutual, Leslie received numerous awards and recognitions, and developed many great friendships over the years.

In August 1994, Leslie married her soul mate, Lawrence Christopher Moore, Sr. Together, they embarked on a journey to raise a family dedicated to God and bring others into the body of Christ. In November of 1994, Leslie and Lawrence joined Greenforest Community Baptist Church in Decatur, GA. They joined a Sunday School class called Married in Christ, where their relationship with the church as well as each other grew stronger. After the birth of their first child, Lawrence, Jr., they joined the Cradle Roll Ministry, which served the needs of families with children under 2 years old. Leslie was actively involved in Cradle Roll, always encouraging other mothers. When Lawrence was called into ministry, Leslie was right by his side willing to serve wherever God led them. Leslie assisted Lawrence in teaching Fulfillment Hour and bible study classes as they helped to cultivate the College and Young Adult Ministries at Greenforest. Leslie also supported Lawrence's vision of starting a ministry that connects children (and adults) to God through communion with nature. Together they founded Hallowed Ground Christian Ministries in 2002. Wherever God led Lawrence, Leslie was always there. Leslie is truly the embodiment of the word help-mate and an example of a Proverbs 31 woman. Leslie enjoyed crocheting, eading, and just spending time with her family.

Leslie went home to Glory on February 9 at her home in Stockbridge, GA. Even in her last days here on earth, she was still encouraging anyone who came into her presence. She moved quietly from labor to reward and had a peaceful look on her face, knowing she was safe and secure in the hands of God. Leslie will forever be an inspiration to her friends and family. She will always be known for her infectious and unwavering smile and her cheerful spirit. But her greatest legacy will be the example she leaves for her children. For in her brief time on earth, she has touched the lives of so many through her humble spirit, devotion to her husband and family, and her unwavering love and belief in God. More than anything, that love is the greatest gift she could leave her children.

In addition to her husband and children, Leslie is survived by her mother, Mildred (Walter) Gladwin; stepmother, Veronica Pierce; sister, Stephanie Harris, and brother, Eric (Cynthia) Pierce; grandfather, James (Mary) Pierce; nieces, Shanna Harris and Ayesha Ramsey; nephews, Steven Bailey and David Bailey; mother-in-law, Erma Moore; brother-in-law, Leonard Moore, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
